Position Summary
With the supervision of the Sky Ranch Behavioral Services Executive Director, the Youth Interventionist/ Mental Health Professional will provide in the office, home-based, and community-based individual, group, and/or family mental health therapy connected to youth and families in early diversion services or youth, adults, and/or families referred for outpatient mental health individual, group, or family therapy. This individual will maintain the ability to work Monday through Friday in the office and/or community within the hours of 8am to 5pm with the ability to work up to two evenings per week until 7pm to meet the needs of youth and families. This position will maintain a 60% or greater direct contact services in delivery of face-to-face interventions with clients. This is an in the office and community position. This is a .75 FTE position with the ability to move to full-time based on consistent productivity and the expansion of referrals for outpatient mental health services.
About the Role
Deliver evidence-based diversion interventions focused on culturally affirming substance use and mental health practices according to SHIELD diversion interventions
Conduct youth diversion screening and individual planning
Ensure all documentation and reporting as requested in support of performance measurement and service delivery
Provide telephonic, virtual, in person, home, and community-based screening related to mental health and substance use for youth and caregivers
Ensure a minimum of 60 percent of time is delivering direct services to youth and families
Deliver individual, family, and group evidence-based substance use, mental health, and COD intervention services in a culturally affirming manner to youth and/or families
Provide crisis intervention, referral and service coordination to support youth, families, and providers • Works in collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary team
Completes training on all evidence-based practices, safety, intervention, confidentiality, mandated reporting etc.
Ensure Code of Ethics, confidentiality, mandated reporting, release of information, and overall ethical, legal, and best practices for delivery of mental health services
Educate caregivers on youth mental health and substance use disorder issues
Completes data collection, data entry and required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards
Practices within professional areas of expertise and scope of practice. Practices under the supervision of an independently licensed professional (if required)
Works with the client and parent/caregiver as needed to obtain the desired social and emotional wellbeing and recovery through management of the issues that are caused by trauma

Requirements
Education Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Art Therapy and/or a related field (Required)
Experience/Qualification Requirements
Valid Iowa Mental Health Professional Independent License (LISW, LMHC) OR Intermediate temporary Iowa License such as LMSW or tLMHC with willingness to practice with supervision of independently licensed professional (Required)
Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing mental health and behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families (Desired)
Experience working with at risk youth
